SewMendStitch is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.

If you click a supply link and then buy something on Amazon, we may receive a small commission. The price you pay is the same as it would be if you went to Amazon directly.

Where the links are

Affiliate links appear in the materials and tools reference, in the "Gear for this lesson" boxes on some lessons, and occasionally in guides. Each of those boxes is labelled as containing paid links, and the links themselves are marked as sponsored for search engines.

Most links open an Amazon search for a type of supply, such as "glass-head sewing pins", rather than one product, so you can compare prices and choose for yourself.

How recommendations are made

A lesson's materials list is written first, from what the job needs, and the links are added afterwards. We do not accept payment, free products or sponsorship in return for featuring a product, and an affiliate program has no influence over which technique a lesson teaches. Where a household item works as well as a bought tool (a teaspoon instead of a darning mushroom, a bulldog clip instead of sewing clips), the lesson says so.

Buying without a link

You never need to use our links. Every supply in the lessons is described by type (for example "size 24 tapestry needle" or "14-count Aida") so you can buy it at a local fabric shop, a craft chain or anywhere else. Local shops are often the better choice for thread and fabric, because you can match colour and feel the weight before you buy.
