Using the lessons

You are welcome to read, follow and print lessons, guides, charts and diagrams for your own personal, non-commercial use, including using our charts to stitch items you give away. Teachers and community groups may print single lessons for a class as long as the SewMendStitch name and page address stay on the printout.

Please do not republish our text, diagrams or images on another website, sell our charts or lessons, or present them as your own. A link to the page is always fine.

Safety and your materials

Sewing involves sharp tools, hot irons and powered machines. Follow the safety notes in each lesson and the instructions in your machine's and iron's manuals. Always test heat, steam, marking pens and stain treatments on a scrap or hidden area first. You are responsible for your own garments and materials; we cannot be liable for damage to fabric, garments or equipment that results from following a lesson.

Accuracy

We work to keep every page accurate and correct errors when we learn of them, as described in the editorial policy. The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Manufacturers change products and specifications, so check the label or manual for the item in your hands.

Links to other sites

Guides link to outside sources, and some pages link to retailers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, prices or privacy practices.

Charts, diagrams and photos

Cross-stitch charts and stitch diagrams on this site were drawn for SewMendStitch, and photographs and illustrations were made for the site with AI image tools. They are covered by the same personal-use permission as the text. Finished items you stitch from our charts are yours to keep, give or sell in small numbers at craft fairs; the chart itself is not to be sold or redistributed.
